Congratulations to the Hancock County School District’s 2024 STAR Student and Teacher!
The STAR, or Student Teacher Achievement Recognition, honor is awarded to the high school senior from each Georgia public and private high school who achieves the highest score on any single test date of the SAT and ranks in the top 10 percent or top 10 students of their class based on grade point average. Each honored student is invited to select their favorite teacher to be named that school’s STAR Teacher.
Hancock Central High School's STAR student is Autumn Harris. Autumn has chosen Ms. Connie Evans, an English Language Arts Teacher, as the 2024 STAR Teacher. Ms. Evans stated, "I am so very proud of Autumn Harris. I am humbled by her selection of me... Well done parents, grandparents, and all those laying the foundation for Autumn's success." Congratulations to both Autumn and Ms. Evans!
